Diaspora fans urge Kojo Antwi to stage annual international concerts

Fans of legendary Ghanaian musician Kojo Antwi living abroad are calling for the organisation of annual concerts in major cities across the diaspora.

The appeal follows the musician’s recent live performance in London, where he shared the stage with Ivorian music star Meiway at the Dominion Centre on Saturday, September 5, 2026.

The concert attracted music lovers who gathered to enjoy performances from the two celebrated African musicians.

Reacting to the event days after the concert, TikToker Ms Aba praised the performance and said Ghanaians and other African music enthusiasts living outside the country should have more opportunities to experience Kojo Antwi performing live.

She suggested that the “Maestro” consider embarking on an annual diaspora tour covering countries and cities with significant African populations, particularly the United Kingdom, the United States and Germany.

According to her, regular international concerts would not only give fans abroad an opportunity to connect with Kojo Antwi’s music and legacy but would also help promote Ghanaian music and culture globally.

Ms Aba described the London concert as an impressive experience and said she had watched footage of the performance several times.

She expressed regret at missing the event in person and appealed for similar performances to be organised in other parts of the diaspora.

Kojo Antwi, one of Ghana’s most celebrated musicians, has enjoyed a career spanning several decades, with his music continuing to attract audiences both locally and internationally.

The Maestro has also documented his musical journey in his memoir, “Mr Music Man: The Journey.”

The calls for regular diaspora concerts reflect the continued popularity of Ghanaian highlife and the desire among music lovers abroad to experience performances from some of the country’s iconic artistes.
