Hot weather, thunderstorms and strong winds are forecast across parts of Morocco on Wednesday, according to the General Directorate of Meteorology.
Relatively hot to hot conditions are expected in Loukkos, Gharb, the northern and central interior plains, inland Souss, Saiss, the southern Oriental region, the southeast and the interior of the southern provinces.
Thunderstorms are forecast over the Middle Atlas, the northern Oriental region and the far south of the Saharan provinces. Lighter thundery showers may also affect the phosphate plateau, High Atlas and southeast.
Low clouds accompanied by fog or light local drizzle are expected along the Atlantic and Mediterranean coasts during the morning and overnight.
Minimum temperatures will range from 25 to 32 degrees Celsius in the southeast, Saiss, inland Souss and the eastern and southern parts of the Saharan provinces.
Lows of between 15 and 21 degrees are forecast in the Atlas and Rif mountains and near the coasts, while temperatures elsewhere will generally range from 21 to 25 degrees.
Daytime temperatures are expected to rise in Gharb, Loukkos, the interior plains, Chiadma, inland Souss, the Rif, the northern Oriental region and the Saharan provinces. Temperatures will fall slightly or remain broadly unchanged elsewhere.
Moderately strong winds are forecast in the Tangier region and the southern provinces, with locally blowing dust and sand.
Seas will be calm to slightly rough in the Mediterranean and slightly rough to rough in the Strait of Gibraltar and along the Atlantic coast. Conditions could temporarily become rough to very rough along the central Atlantic coast early Wednesday.
