I am ever ready to play for Black Stars – Hearts of Oak defender Kelvin Osei Asibey

Hearts of Oak defender Kelvin Osei Asibey says he is ready to represent Ghana at international level following an impressive start to the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League season.
The centre-back has featured in all eight league matches for the Phobians, helping them collect 17 points as they maintain a strong start to the campaign.
His consistent performances have strengthened his case for a place in the Black Stars squad, with Ghana preparing for a doubleheader against Somalia in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers next month.
Speaking after Hearts of Oak’s victory over Basake Holy Stars at the weekend, Asibey expressed his willingness to answer a national team call-up whenever the opportunity arises.
“As long as I am a citizen of the Republic of Ghana, I am ready; whenever the nation needs my services, I’ll come and serve the nation very well,” he said.
Asibey has emerged as an important figure in coach Nebojsa Kapor’s side, having been named Player of the Match in each of Hearts of Oak’s last three games.
His recent form could put him in contention for a maiden senior national team call-up as the Black Stars seek to revive their qualifying campaign.
Ghana have endured a difficult start to the 2027 AFCON qualifiers, losing to Côte d’Ivoire and The Gambia in their opening matches.
The four-time African champions will face Somalia twice next month as they attempt to secure their first victory and improve their chances of qualifying for the tournament.
Asibey will be hoping to maintain his impressive performances when Hearts of Oak travel to face newly promoted Debibi United in their Matchday Nine fixture this weekend.
