The Military Pensions Board (MPB) has moved to address concerns over the implementation of newly approved pension rates, holding consultations with military veterans’ associations to clarify the changes and strengthen communication with pensioners.
The meeting, held on Friday, October 9, 2026, provided an opportunity for the Board to explain the implementation process, respond to questions from veterans’ representatives and promote a common understanding of the approved rates.
In a statement signed by the Board’s Public Relations Officer, Squadron Leader Aliyu Mohammed, the MPB said the engagement underscored the importance of sustained dialogue, mutual understanding and established communication channels in resolving pension-related concerns.
During the meeting, representatives of the veterans’ associations acknowledged the explanations provided by the Board and expressed appreciation for the opportunity to engage directly with its officials.
The discussions also focused on strengthening communication between the Board and military pensioners to facilitate the resolution of issues arising from the implementation of the new rates.
The MPB reaffirmed its commitment to the welfare of military pensioners, pledging to sustain transparent communication, constructive engagement and the timely resolution of matters within its mandate.
