Activities for the celebration included scriptural reading, presentations by the college music club, pastor’s charge and thanksgiving by staff and pupils.
In his speech, the Director of Studies (DoS), Mr. Chris Eigbe, said Starfield College is celebrating 28 years of God’s faithfulness, educational excellence and service.
Eigbe noted:”We gathered with grateful hearts to celebrate our journey, honour those who have contributed to it, and give glory to God, who has sustained us.
“Over these past 28 years, our school has nurtured students who demonstrated academic excellence, strong character, sound moral values and the confidence to contribute meaningfully to the growth of our nation. Our joy lies not only in their achievements, but also in the responsible men and women they are becoming.”
Eigbe disclosed that along the journey, they have been blessed with wonderful teachers and non-teaching staff whose dedication and sacrifices helped build and sustain Starfield College, adding, “your commitment has shaped lives, strengthened our community and kept our vision alive.”
According to him, every academic session, God remained the college’s source of strength and comfort. He thanked God for His guidance and protection, every challenge it overcame, life touched and achievements recorded. “We have cried unto You, and You have answered us. You have preserved our lives and given us reasons to rejoice,” he noted.
The director expressed appreciation to staff, both past and present as the instrument used by God to help the school, stating, “through your teaching, service, patience and sacrifice, you have made lasting contributions to the lives of our students. We recognise your efforts.”
Eigbe also acknowledged the students and the alumni for embracing the spirit of excellence that defines Starfield College, and urged them to carry the values of integrity, diligence, respect and service wherever they go.
He commended parents for entrusting their children to them and supporting the college throughout these years, adding, “you remain a source of inspiration. Your encouragement strengthens us, and your honest feedback challenges us to improve and serve your families better.”
The DoS used the occasion to renew the college commitment to academic excellence, strong character and the development of every child entrusted in the care of the school.
The Principal of the college, Mrs. Sara Oyinloye, said the occasion is about celebrating the college’s birthday and thanking God for the journey so far, and looked forward to a better years ahead.
