A U.S. Paralympic athlete facing medical and living expenses while training for the 2028 Los Angeles Games has taken on an unconventional sponsorship deal: posting strictly safe-for-work content on OnlyFans while turning down five-figure offers to post adult content.

Catarina Guimaraes, a 22-year-old from Cranford, New Jersey, signed a $25,000 annual deal with the subscription platform best known for hosting adult entertainment, as reported by NJ.com.

Although her presence on the site has attracted substantial offers for adult content — including a $15,000 request for a single private video call — Guimaraes has drawn a firm line, refusing to post anything explicit.

“All my teammates were like, ‘You should totally take him up on [the call],’” Guimaraes said. “I was like, ‘Nooooo, that is not what I’m about.’ But it was crazy. I did not realize people would offer that much money for that stuff.”

Instead, the U.S. track and field athlete publishes behind-the-scenes workout videos, gym routines, personal updates and clips of herself singing Broadway songs to help promote the platform’s non-explicit sports tier, OnlyFans Sports.

“They basically offered to compensate me for posts on their platform and on my platform about them to bring a more wholesome view of their page,” Guimaraes said. “It isn’t anything racy, unless you want to count a video of me doing power cleans in a sports bra and shorts as racy.”

An OnlyFans spokesperson said in an email to NJ.com that the company “loves working with athlete creators who are excited about using the platform to connect with their audience while building a new revenue stream through their content.”

The financial support allows Guimaraes to manage the costs associated with her cerebral palsy while pursuing world-class training. The neurological condition affects muscle tone, posture and body movement, which Guimaraes describes as “having bad WiFi in your brain.”

“It’s like this constant fight to keep everything in sync,” she said.

Her father, John Guimaraes, emphasized that the financial backing allowed her to concentrate on her athletic performance.

“The idea behind this is to reduce her financial strain,” John Guimaraes told the publication. “When she wakes up, she shouldn’t be thinking, ‘Do I have enough gas money to get to the training center?’ It should be her training.”

Guimaraes’ path to international competition began early. Diagnosed with cerebral palsy at age 3 after a neurologist in Portugal identified the condition, she pushed to join track events in elementary school.

“I’ve never met a 9-year-old who trained for a school race before,” Guimaraes said. “But I was at the track every other day, practicing and busting my butt, running sprints, ladders, just to get into this race.”

She lost her first race — “And I got my a** kicked,” she said. “I got smoked, like, completely” — but continued competing.

She eventually earned a second-degree black belt in taekwondo, joined an adaptive track club and went on to become the first NCAA Division I athlete with cerebral palsy after signing with High Point University.

Guimaraes represented Team USA at the 2024 Paris Paralympics, placing eighth in the long jump at Stade de France.

“It was like, ‘Oh my God, I’m at the Paralympics,” she said.

Currently based in Chula Vista, California, Guimaraes is balancing her training for the International Federation of Cerebral Palsy Football World Cup and the 2028 Los Angeles Games with coursework for a master’s degree in kinesiology from Louisiana State University.

Beyond athletics, Guimaraes built a social media following around female empowerment in sports, though her association with OnlyFans has brought drawbacks, including reach restrictions on Instagram. Still, she remains committed to presenting a balanced image on her platform.

“I really love the idea that you can be feminine and powerful and strong at the same time,” Guimaraes said. “I feel like people forget that. And that’s what my page has been about.”
