Ghanaian defender Daniel Asiedu joins Norwegian outfit Ranheim Fotball

Ghanaian defender Daniel Asiedu has sealed a move to Norwegian side Ranheim Fotball. The 21-year-old signed a short-term deal to join the second tier outfit after leaving Swiss giants FC Basel. The Norwegians have the option to extend his contract at the end of the season."We have been looking for some very specific qualities. We wanted physical robustness, someone who loves to defend his own box, and preferably a left-footed centre-back. Daniel hits the nail on the head on that profile," said the club's Sports Director Kare Ingebrigtsen.Asiedu has been training with Ranheim since August after his contract ended with Basel.During his time in Switzerland, he featured prominently for the youth team and spent some time also training with the senior side."Daniel is a real powerhouse at almost two meters, and we see great untapped potential in him. The fact that he has been here for a long time has given us the opportunity to evaluate him closely in everyday life. His characteristics suit us perfectly," added Ingebrigtsen."We have signed a contract until the end of the year, with an option to extend if the autumn meets expectations. Now Daniel will have the opportunity to show himself in a match situation, and we look forward to following his development closely."He is expected to make his debut for Ranheim against Egersund on Friday.
